14 Artist’s Pick - Crimson Moon

Following the theme of astronomy for this year's Artist's Pick, Crimson Moon was inspired after viewing the moon one night. Instead of the bright white one is accustomed to, it was red, an imposing red that greatly contrasted against the deep blue sky. Through the reflection of both the red moon and blue sky, the buildings around gave a rich violet hue that was reminiscent of a gothic novel. With these deep blues and violets, artists can achieve a rich and cool landscape along with complimentary bright and pure reds, that bring a strong vocal point to the piece. TJ
